If you like movies with little budgets and big ideas, and you’re free on Tuesdays, check out the Midwest Independent Film Festival, which resumes September 6 at Landmark Century Centre Cinema (2828 N. Clark).

The festival kicks off another year with the critically acclaimed indie comedy “Incredibly Small.” The story of a wannabe sculptor and a driven law student who share a shabby 300-square foot apartment, “Incredibly Small” was shot in Minneapolis over 14 days with an independently financed budget.

“Incredibly Small” will screen at Landmark on Tuesday, September 6. The event begins with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by a producers’ panel at 6:30, and the film at 7:30. A Q&A with writer-director Dean Peterson and lead actress Susan Burke will follow the screening, and a kickoff celebration will be held immediately after at Forno Diablo (433 W. Diversey). Tickets begin at $10.

According to their website, the Midwest Independent Film Festival is “the nation’s only film festival solely dedicated to the Midwest filmmaker, presenting audiences with regionally produced independent cinema every first Tuesday of the month.”
