Home robbed on Waveland
July 6, 3:30 a.m.
A 23-year-old male is in custody after robbing a 23-year-old female’s home near the corner of Waveland Avenue and Lake Shore Drive, according to reports. The victim was walking home from work when she was approached by the offender. He asked her for train fare and she said to wait outside in her vestibule while she went into her home to get him money. The offender instead, followed the victim into her home. She quickly grabbed a handful of tip money from a glass vase and handed it to the man. He grabbed the vase, which held approximately $1,200 and fled her home. The vase was later found at the Jewel-Osco on Broadway and Addison Street sitting next to the CoinStar machine. The offender was found and arrested.
24-year-old female robbed on Fremont
July 6, 5 p.m.
A 24-year-old female was robbed while walking near the corner of Fremont Street and Cornelia Avenue, according to reports. The victim was walking home when she was approached by three males in their twenties. One of the offenders grabbed her iPhone and pulled off her headphones. She tried to fight back, but the offender successfully took the phone and fled followed by the other three males. No arrests.
iPhone stolen on Waveland
July 6, 6:30 p.m.
A 25-year-old female was robbed while walking home near the corner of Waveland and Pine Grove avenues, according to reports. The victim was holding her iPhone when she was approached from behind by a male in his twenties. The offender grabbed her wrist and began twisting until she dropped the phone. The offender shoved the victim against a building, grabbed the phone off the ground and fled. No arrests.
21-year-old female robbed on Sheridan
July 7, 4 a.m.
A 21-year-old female was robbed while walking near the corner of Sheridan Road and Halsted Street, according to reports. A male in his 30s approached the victim from behind and grabbed her purse, which contained her laptop. The victim struggled to keep her bag but the offender successfully grabbed the bag and fled. No arrests.
32-year-old male attacked on Broadway
July 8, 11:30 p.m.
A 32-year-old male was attacked by six unknown males while walking down home with his friends near the corner of Broadway and Montrose Avenue, according to reports. The victim and his friends were approached by six males on their motorcycles. The offenders pulled up to the curb and began chasing the victim on foot. They converged the victim and began striking him in the head with their helmets and stabbing him in the side of his chest with a knife. Two of the friends ran towards the victim and the offenders fled. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. No arrests.
