25-year-old male stabbed
July 3, 11:45 p.m.

Two males in their 20s or 30s stabbed a 25-year-old male on Halsted Street at Aldine Avenue, according to reports. The victim was walking down Halsted when he was approached by a group of males who started yelling towards him. One offender started arguing with the victim and stabbed him multiple times in the stomach. The victim ran across the street and the offenders fled. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. No arrests.

37-year-old male attacked
June 28, 4 a.m.

A 37-year-old male was attacked at the corner of Halsted Street and Buckingham Avenue after leaving a bar, according to reports. Three unknown men in their mid-20s ran up behind the victim and punched him in the head and face. The offenders proceeded to rob him taking his iPhone and wallet. No arrests.

Man tackled and robbed on Roscoe
June 29, 1 a.m.

A 32-year-old male is in police custody for assaulting a 42-year-old male near the corner of Roscoe Avenue and Halsted Street, according to reports. The victim was walking down Roscoe when the offender tackled him from behind and proceeded to punch him in the face several times. The offender took the victim’s wallet and fled. Police later found the offender and arrested him.

Knife threat outside of bar
June 30, 1:30 a.m.

A 32-year-old male is in police custody for threatening a 29-year-old male with a knife outside of a bar on Halsted Street and Cornelia Avenue, according to reports. The offender went into the bar to use the restroom. The owner told him they did not have public restrooms and had to escort the offender outside. The offender proceeded to pull a knife out of his bag and threaten the victim’s life. The offender fled, and was later arrested. The victim was not injured.

Male robbed at knife point
July 2, 3 a.m.

A 35-year-old male was assaulted and robbed by an unknown male in his mid-40s in an alley near Sheridan and Irving Park roads, according to reports. The victim asked the offender how to get to the Red Line. The offender said he would show him and led the victim into an alley. He proceeded to put a knife up to the victim’s back and forced him to remove his pants. The offender took the victim’s pants and wallet. No arrests.

    Thank you to the Redeye for being the ONE news agency in chicago that can actually tally up most of the crime that’s taken place. Don’t forget the old lady who was robbed leaving Treasure Island at 2pm last month… I’m sure there are dozens more incidents, but you guys are the only agency even attempting to cover the story thoroughly it seems.

    its sad that once and up and coming area is starting to get a bad reputation.
    it has nothing to do with the people who live and work in the area..its the underage afro-american kids who have nothing better to do than start shit with people.

    its like they are pushing buttons and provoking violence any day of the week
